In 2002, a female patient was referred to the unit by her dentist as she had advanced gum disease which he deemed as hopeless. Following work up, she was treated with Nobel Biocare zygomatic implants and normal dental implants in the upper jaw and Novum implants in the lower jaw - immediate temporary bridges were fitted. Following a suitable healing period, final bridges were constructed and fitted. She has been followed up every six months and to date, twenty years down the line, the implants are still in good function. The Xray shows both her jaws with the multiple implants - a complex case.
